BlacknoteDSS35

The DSS is a stand alone high definition multi format player

The Blacknote DSS can play any kind of high definition computer audio files like Wav, Flac, AIFF and others, as well as commonly used compressed files such as MP3, M4A, AAC, ALAC, etc. fed into the DSS directly via its USB ports without the need of any Digital to Analog converter or computer connection.
The Audio Files can be played directly from a variety of USB Flash Memories such as the USB Sticks, powered HDD but even from Computers or CD Rom players via the USB port.
The Audio Files can be organized through a customized playlist managed by a computer's "Windows-Directory", where we can sort material in any number of ways. Those used to play with the Apple I-Pod know that that such flexibility of play is nearly impossible when being processed thru the I-Tunes program, which automatically orders positions and names to the Playlist , sometimes even disabling deletion of files!
The DSS display shows the main functions of the unit: the track name of the audio file, the extension (wav, mp3, flac…) and the track time.
The DSS features a RS232 computer port but also a high performance Ethernet port to be part of a LAN network. The unit maybe used optionally wireless.
The DSS is even a traditional Hi-End D/A Converter for CD Transports through a RCA Coax input digital connection.
But the DSS is also can work as digital source featuring a RCA Coax input digital connection able to send to any external D/A Converter any digital format supplied.

The DSS main features are:

1) The DSS is a real time player of computer files stored into HDD or USB sticks maintaining the integrity of the file minimizing the problems like jitter for a superior sound quality. Actually the DSS does not convert audio files but processes computer files inside to keep the max performance and virtually eliminates the problems related to the jitter.
2) The DSS is a Stand Alone Player does not need any computer to work. It works simply plug and play a flash memory such an USB stick or external HDD and through any of the its USB ports.
3) The DSS is a totally self-contained unit. Also important to point out that you can manage your music catalogues with its simple 4 buttons control and its integrated LCD screen. Simple.
4) When connected to the computer the DSS is the only player that can drive or control the computer and not the other way around. Such difference is a fundamental benefit because it lets place the DSS in any desired and permanent location with the rest of his HiFi gear while the computer maybe conveniently placed anywhere and managed by through the DSS's "User Interface, certainly a unique advantage of the unit.
5) The DSS is not a computer, it has not computer processor, fans and the typical devices of the industrial computers. It is a player of high definition computer files with a proprietary exclusive design.
6) The DSS is even a traditional Hi-End D/A Converter for CD Transports through a RCA Coax input digital connection, but it can also work as digital source featuring a RCA Coax input digital connection able to send to any external D/A Converter any digital format supplied.
These unique features and innovations of our DSS make this product one of the most powerful and hottest digital audio gears available in the market today.

Blacknote SACD 300
Blacknotesacd 300productpage
The SACD comes directly from the CDP 300 from which it takes almost all the cosmetic and technical characteristics. As the name shows the SACD 300 is able to drive SACD disc having a dedicated DSD converter on board, also the SACD 300 is shaped around the French made GyrFalcon Super Audio CD transport improved thru the proprietary Blacknote circuit system called Natural-speed that tunes the mechanic motor to virtually erase vibrations but also keep the speed during play so slow to seem quite the same as an analog tuntable.
The PCM digital stage, as the CDP 300, is designed around the customized DACs made by AKM (Japan) and Burr-Brown (USA). The proprietary circuit design of the DAC enable the SACD 300 a real 24bit resolution.
The high quality of the Digital to Analog converters and the Blacknote proprietary circuit design allow to reach a sonic performance hardly available from “standard” digital players. The Clock generator is designed around the Burr-Brown PLL1705 microchip.
The PLL1705 enables a very low jitter phase error, one of the lowest today available: 50-12 (50,000 billions of a second). The power supply is made with four dedicated custom transformers. Any transformer supplies the power directly to the Digital Stage, the Analog stage, the Transport and the other CD powered sections including the display. The whole power supply is stabilized and rectified with sophisticated and over dimensioned Current Generators designed exclusively by Blacknote.
The extra large alpha numeric display can be customized and switched off during play mode in order to stop working any voltage power dedicated into the unit. All the functions and operativity of the CD player are managed thru a customised Texas-Instruments microchip programmed with a software that allows for any eventual necessary future up-grades of the unit. The Analog Power Supply is managed thru four CP chips singularly powered with a special multi inductive power supply. The Power supply dedicated to the mother board and the DAC board is decoupled thru two “fused silicon” transformers specially shaped by Analog Device.
The SACD 300 features a sophisticated tube analog output stage based on two 6922 mini valves. The transport is controlled by the Natural-Speed design that enables the lowest disc speed possible simulating the functionality of an analog turntable. The Natural-Speed also tunes the transport motor in order to virtually erase any vibration.

Blacknote CDP 300
Blacknote CDP 300productspage
The CDP 300 is the first Blacknote CD player made with a double front panel and the innovative extra large alpha numeric display. The CDP 300 is designed around the newest digital devices today available.
The Digital to Analog stage is managed thru customized DACs made by AKM (Japan) and Burr-Brown (Texas Instruments, U.S.A.). The proprietary circuit design of the DAC enable the CDP 300 a real 24 bit resolution with the over-sampling 368 higher than the standard CD players (44,1KHz).
The high quality of the Digital to Analog converters and the Blacknote proprietary circuit design allow to reach a sonic performance hardly available from “standard” CD players. The Clock generator is designed around the Burr-Brown PLL1705 microchip. The PLL1705 is able to generates a very low jitter phase error, one of the lowest today available: 50-12 (50.000 billions of second).
The power supply is made with four different sections and managed thru four dedicated custom transformers. Any transformer supplies the power directly to the Digital Stage, the Analog stage, the Transport and the other CD Player powered stages including the display.
The whole power supply is stabilized and rectified with sophisticated and over dimensioned Current Generators exclusively made by Blacknote.
The extra large alpha numeric display can be customized and switched off during play mode in order to stop working any voltage power dedicated inside the unit.
All the functions and operativity of the CD player are controlled with the latest generation Texas-Instruments microchip programmed with a dedicated software able to manage any eventual necessary future up-grade of the unit.
The Analog Power Supply is managed thru four OP chips singularly powered with a special multi inductive power supply.
The Power supply dedicated to the mother board and the DAC board is decoupled thru two “fused silicon” transformers specially shaped by Analog Device.
The CDP 300 features a sophisticated tube analog output stage based around two 6922 tubes. Such new output stage is a true balanced tube design no-matching any transistor or j-fet in order to get the highest sonic performance.
The transport mechanism is of the drawer type and is designed to achieve the disc rotation stability at its best with a proprietary circuit, the Natural-Speed™ able to manage the speed of the disc down quite as much as an analog turntable.
The Natural-Speed™ also tunes the transport motor in order to virtually erase the generated spinning vibrations.
