INT 202/203 firewire interface

front_int202_203 650pxYou may own your favorite D/A Converter already. It may be not the latest and greatest, but you like its sound and its looks and features. So you don’t like the idea to get another DAC just to be able to connect the computer. This is where our interfaces come in (also see the INT204 interface described elsewhere). They allow to connect any DAC to any computer. And this in a decent way, with the computer slaved to the internally generated clock and with absolute bit transparency.

The INT202/INT203 interfaces are two variants with slightly varying features. Common to both units is that they handle all standard sampling frequencies between 44.1 and 192 kHz.

  • The INT202 is a stereo Firewire to AES/EBU (unidirectional) interface with infrared remote control for volume and absolute polarity. It supports dual wire data transfer in 176.4/192 kHz mode for older D/A Converters. The bit transparency of the player software on the computer can be checked with the INT202.
  • The INT203 is for bidirectional interfacing between AES/EBU and Firewire and also includes an infrared remote control for volume and absolute polarity. The bit transparency of the player software on the computer can be checked. The INT203 can serve as an input to the computer, e.g. to connect an A/D Converter for transferring vinyl records.
