CEC is legendary for precision. Conventional CD transports tend to amplify even the slightest vibration in the reflective surface of the disc due to the distance the laser beam has to travel. These microvibrations scatter light and reduce the integrity of the digital data stream. The CEC TL 0 3.0's revolutionary three part chassis suppresses micro-vibrations and resonances that cause unwanted jitter in the data stream.

 The elimination of jitter greatly reduces the distortion that too often characterizes CDs as digital rather than musical. CEC has achieved superior isolation of the TL 0 3.0 drive mechanism by using three spiked feet and a rubber damped three-point suspension.

To assure undisturbed operation of the laser pickup, all sources of electro-magnetic interference are physically isolated.The massive regulated power supply is housed in a separate chassis that may be located up to 1.5 meters from the TL0 3.0 drive mechanism chassis.

 The drive electronics are enclosed in a 20 mm thick non magnetic anodized aluminum chassis isolated from the main drive mechanism. The drive and laser motors are electronically, magnetically, and mechanically isolated from the laser pickup and turntable, decoupled by two precision drive belts. The disc drive motor is a cog-free low torque design that is inherently free of vibrations.

 Much like analogue turntables, inertia is applied to the disc by the use of a 460 g. stabilizer, of 125 mm diameter, supported by an ultra precision spindle/thrust bearing assembly. This avoids the need of permanent electronic servo-corrections required by all other CD transports, and ads vertical stability to the disc.

The brand new CEC DA 0 3.0 is the original multibit DAC concept with the most sophisticated implementation and highest precision. We based the solution on the best technology available and applied our knowledge and experience taking the design to the extreme.

 The CEC DA 0 3.0 - uses a concept called R2R ladder. This is a resistor matrix that is switched for the various output levels outputting a fraction of an internal reference (much like a volume control). In order to bring the performance of multibit DAC's to new levels the only solution is to build them from discrete components as there are no off the shelf chips good enough. This involves the selection of ultra precision resistors, thermally coupling them and building a very fast and sophisticated switching logic to control them. The result is an order of magnitude better performance than what is achievable by IC based solution. To take advantage of the available resolution and bandwidth we had to implement a state of the art digital preprocessing. This is a suite of algorithms that would apply digital filtering and up sampling to the incoming data stream. After processing a 16bit 44.1kHz CD data stream it is converted to 32bit 352.8kHZ data fed directly to the DAC. This greatly improves low-level resolution and the sense of space. The process is all user controllable and defeatable for purist band non-oversampling use. Apart from taking the uncompromising approach of using discrete ladder technology we have taken exceptional care with the construction and operation of each circuit within the DAC.

 The CEC DA 0 3.0 use transformer or optical decoupling of all inputs, meaning that contaminated ground connection and other interfering signals don't make it to the inside of the unit. The CEC DA 0 3.0 have no output filter at the DAC output providing the cleanest possible output signal, just a transformer matching the impedance of the converter resistors to the outside world and isolating them from external influence.

 The CEC DA 0 3.0 use completely separate power supplies for each block in the DAC: the Converters, Clock, DSP and Control logic all with floating ground planes and our unique constant current regulator technology. Then the whole assembly is mounted in a solid aluminum case for vibration damping and EMI/RFI screening. The CEC DA 0 3.0 is a different league from all currentlyn available high end DAC's.

 CEC SUPERLINK Digital Signal Transmission System Connection was redesign for the new DA 0 3.0. SUPERLINK is CEC's proprietary digital signal transmission system that transports music signals and synchronization (clock) signals with separate cables. The SPDIF- and AES/EBU- systems, commonly used in coaxial digital outputs and optical outputs, transmit both the music and clock signals through the same cable, and thus are prone to jitter effects caused by the signals interfering with each other. CEC's SUPERLINK system transmits these signals separately with multiple cables, requiring no encoding/decoding process for data transmission. It minimizes deterioration of the music signal during transmission by using the clock signals from the D/A converter's master clock generator to achieve complete synchronization.

 Major points of improvement are as follows:

• The servo PCB circuit has been redesigned to shorten the signal pass and strengthen the grounding. This will minimize the deterioration and the distortion of the digital signal recorded on the CD.
• Word-clock input has been newly installed. Having the same outer clock as the D/A converter, jitter will be remarkably minimized to improve sound reproduction.
• The height of CD stabilizer (puck) has been decreased by 5 mm to stabilize the rotation of the disc.
• CEC's original Superlink connection has been fitted for the first time in the TL0 series. When connected to the D/A converter equipped with Superlink inputs, the shortest and most direct digital signal transportation is available without passing through encoding and decoding procedure.The left/right-clock data, bit-clock data and digital audio music data are all transmitted from the CD-transport to the DAC while the master-clock is generated inside the DAC and sent to the CD-transport.
• The external appearance has been upgraded for the first time since it's original release in 1993. The visible fixing screws and housing have been minimized at each edge of the housing components.
